Deadline-Induced Quality Issues: A Problem All Over the Galaxy

"Deadline-induced quality issues: a problem all over the galaxy."

Just wrapped up my Christmas read: Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, a former software engineer, and it quickly became one of my favorite reads of the last few years.

It's hard sci-fi in the best way — it leans on real physics and grounded problem solving. On the surface, it's a space survival story, but underneath it's really about collaboration, trust, and choosing hope when every data point says the odds are terrible.

This is a tension I've seen often in navigating ambiguous signals in discovery and roadmap decisions.

The constant loop of hypothesis → experiment → learn in this book felt like healthy product discovery we all could learn from: use what you know, run the next test, adapt fast, and keep going.
